Just to keep everyone posted that Coco Joy will be very quiet for a while. I’m expecting twins imminently so my making and creating of jewellery and other goodies will be taking a back seat for the next few months (and probably even more)! If any of you lovely people make orders in the next few months there will be longer despatch times than the standard 2-3 days and any commission work is on hold for the foreseeable future while I take maternity leave and have my hands full with two little bundles! I hope you all understand and I will keep the website and my facebook page posted when life gets back to some normality! Thank you everyone for your business so far and have a great summer! Coco Joy at Venus in Furs!

Pop down to the Settle Down Cafe for an afternoon of Venus in Furs vintage loveliness tomorrow Sunday 17th April from 12pm til 4pm! Coco Joy will be selling an array of handmade jewellery goodies plus a new collection of silver and gold plated vintage necklaces and quirky earrings to suit all budgets! There will be a host of other stallholders there too plus the Settle does great cakes and a blinding BLT for those sunday hangovers! Pop down for a great way to spend a sunday afternoon! xxx

Smoove and Turrell Album Launch Night! Woo!

Come along to the atmospheric setting of the Old Town Hall for the launch of a new club night ‘Vintage’, which each month will take a different slant on all things funk, soul and R&B with live acts and DJs. For a very special first show, local North East seven piece funk outfit Smoove and Turrell debut their second album ‘Eccentric Audio’.

As well as a night of beats and brakes the Venus In Furs crowd will be there with stalls selling all sorts of loveliness in the manner of clothes, jewels and accessories. Coco Joy will be there and I’ll have my new collection with me which takes on a vintage feel in a more costume jewellery fashion. I’ll be there from 9pm into the wee hours of the morning so head on down and say hi!

Christmas Hols! Woo!

Well… it’s Christmas Eve tomorrow and that means the start of holiday time at Coco HQ! Driving home for Christmas tomorrow with santa sacks of pressies and christmas cheer, yay! Hopefully the snow won’t cause us too much hassle, fingers crossed!

This means that Coco Joy will be hibernating from tomorrow until January the 4th when a manner of all things new and sparkly will be appearing in the shop, plus some exciting news about events which will be happening as a regular occurrence from January thanks to the lovely people over at Venus In Furs @ The Settle Down Cafe, so keep popping back to the site to find out more about that in the new year!

Tyneside Cinema Christmas Art & Craft Market this Sunday!

Okie doke people – it’s the last market outing before Christmas for Coco Joy this Sunday 28th November so head on down to the Tyneside Cinema from 12.30pm til 4.30pm! It’s not too early so you can get your Sunday lie in, recover from the Saturday night before and still have time to find that perfect handmade Christmas pressie!

The third floor spaces and Tyneside Bar will play host to a bustling marketplace with stalls selling one-off designer pieces, photography, crafts, knitted gifts, handmade cards, jewellery, and much more!

Brave the snow and come and say hello!

Church High Christmas Fair tomorrow!

We’re nearing the end of November and Coco Joy’s last two Christmas fairs are this weekend. There’s definitely that Christmassy feeling in the air and on the ground, our white Christmas has come early!!

On Saturday 27th November I will be at the Church High Christmas Fair in Jesmond, Newcastle (Tankerville Terrace, NE2 3BA) as long as we can get the car off the icy drive! If not, I may have to seek out some Huskies with sledges to transport all Coco’s goodies! The fair starts from 10am until 1pm, so wrap up warm in your bobble hat and scarf and sledge on over!

National Glass Centre Market this weekend 20th & 21st November!

It’s two days and counting until the Christmas Arts and Crafts Market at the National Glass Centre in Sunderland. I’ll be there with pieces from my new Vintage collection including sweet pendant necklaces and cutesy colourful bow earrings, Christmas wreath decorations for the home, plus it’s gonna be the first outing of a couple of new monsters so I’ll try to make sure they behave themselves!

Head down if you can and start your Christmas shopping by picking up a unique handmade gift, or if you’ve finished your shopping already (you’re very organised if you have!) get yourself a little treat as a reward for being so organised!

Christmas is coming!

I’m definitely starting to feel Christmassy now getting ready for the oncoming Christmas Market fest! I’m going to be at Matfen Hall Christmas Fair first on the 14th and 15th November and then at the National Glass Centre in Sunderland on the 20th and 21st November.

I’ve been busy making lovely new jewelled goodies which will be in the shop soon ready and waiting to fill those stockings. I’ve also been making pretty Christmas wreaths and decorations for the home too, ‘you can never have too many decorations at Christmas’ is a line my mother in law swears by! And it’s true, you know it’s Christmas when her house turns into a proper little Santa’s Grotto! Lovely!

I’ll keep you posted when things will be available online!
